DTC P0313 [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)]
id0102c3157600
DTC P0313 |
Misfire detected with low fuel |
---|---|
DETECTION CONDITION
• The PCM detects misfire when the fuel tank level is low and does not detect it when the fuel tank level is high. The PCM determines that the misfire is generated by the fuel tank level being too low.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Low fuel level
• Fuel pump malfunction
• Fuel injector malfunction
• CMP sensor malfunction
• CKP sensor malfunction
• Inadequate engine compression due to engine internal malfunction
• Related connector or terminal malfunction
• Related wiring harness malfunction
• PCM malfunction
Diagnostic procedure
STEP |
INSPECTION |
ACTION |
---|---|---|---|
1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
• Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2
VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related service repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
3
IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA
• Is DTC P0313 on freeze frame data?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure.
(See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
No
Go to the next step.
4
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN LOW FUEL LEVEL OR ELSEWHERE
• Connect the M-MDS to DLC-2.
• Clear the DTC form the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Refuel the tank.
• Start the engine and drive the vehicle under freeze frame data conditions.
• Retrieve the DTC.
• Is the same DTC retrieved?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
No
Inspect for restriction or clogging in the fuel line between the fuel tank and fuel pump.
Then go to Step 13.
5
INSPECT FUEL GAUGE UNIT
• Inspect the fuel gauge sender unit.
• Is the fuel gauge sender unit normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the fuel gauge sender unit, then go to the next step.
6
VERIFY CURRENT INPUT SIGNAL STATUS UNDER ENGINE WITCH AT ON POSITION
• Access the APP, BOO, ECT, EgrDc, EGR_TV, IAT, MAF, MAP and VSS PIDs using the M-MDS.
• Is any signal that is far out of specification when the engine switch is turned to the ON position and the engine idles?
Yes
Inspect the suspect circuit or part or both according to the inspection results.
Then go to Step 13.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY CURRENT INPUT SIGNAL STATUS UNDER TROUBLE CONDITIONS
• Inspect the same PIDs as in Step 6 while simulating the freeze frame data condition.
• Are there any signals which cause drastic changes?
Yes
Inspect the suspect circuit or part or both according to the inspection results.
Then go to Step 13.
No
Go to the next step.
8
INSPECT CMP SENSOR
• Inspect the CMP sensor and its installation.
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the suspect part according to the inspection results, then go to Step 13.
No
Go to the next step.
9
INSPECT CKP SENSOR
• Inspect the CKP sensor and its installation.
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the suspect part according to the inspection results, then go to Step 13
No
Go to the next step.
10
INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT PASSAGE FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE
• Perform the engine coolant leakage inspection.
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results, then go to Step 13.
No
Go to the next step.
11
INSPECT ENGINE COMPRESSION
• Inspect the engine compression.
• Is the engine compression normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Lock the camshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley against rotation using the SST (locking tool) at the same time.
• If locked (it means valve timing is correct), overhaul the engine.
• If not locked (it means valve timing is not correct), reinstall the timing belt.
12
INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR
• Inspect the fuel injectors for each cylinder.
• Are the fuel injectors normal?
Yes
Inspect and repair the fuel line for leakage or clogging, then go to the next step.
No
Replace the suspect fuel injector, then go to the next step.
