CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)]

1.  Remove the battery cover. (See СНЯТИЕ И УСТАНОВКА АККУМУЛЯТОРНОЙ БАТАРЕИ [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3.  Remove the engine cover.

4.  Remove the under cover.

5.  Remove the splash shield.

6.  Follow “BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION” before performing any work operations to prevent fuel from spilling from the fuel system. (See МЕРЫ ПРЕДОСТОРОЖНОСТИ ПЕРЕД ПРОВЕДЕНИЕМ РЕМОНТА [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)

7.  Disconnect the quick release connector (Type D). (See СНЯТИЕ И УСТАНОВКА БЫСТРОДЕЙСТВУЮЩЕГО РАЗЪЁМА [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)

8.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

1	Engine timing belt upper cover
2	Bolt
3	Camshaft position sensor connector
4	Camshaft position sensor (See Camshaft Position Sensor Installation Note.)

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

•  The CMP sensor tip must rest on one of the three webs on the back of the camshaft pulley. Incorrect installation may result in the CMP sensor being damaged.

•  Turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation only.

1.  Turn the engine until one of the three webs on the back of the camshaft pulley is in line with the CMP sensor hole in the engine timing belt back plate.

2.  Install the CMP sensor until the tip of the sensor touches the back of the camshaft pulley.
