DTC P2428 [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]

id0102f1032000

DTC P2428

Exhaust gas temperature too high

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the diesel particulate filter temperature using the exhaust gas temperature sensor middle and lower signal after the diesel particulate filter regeneration procedure. If the PCM detects the exhaust gas temperature more than 1,000 °C {1,832 °F}, the PCM determines that the exhaust gas temperature too high.
Diagnostic support note
•  The FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
•  The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Exhaust gas temperature sensor (middle) malfunction
•  Exhaust gas temperature sensor (lower) malfunction
•  Diesel particulate filter malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
