-
Caution
-
• Water penetrating the connector will cause sensor malfunction. To prevent this, be careful not to damage the wiring harnesses or the waterproof connector so as to cause water penetration.
-
Note
-
• Before performing the following inspection, make sure to follow the procedure as indicated in the troubleshooting flowchart. (See
HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL.)
KOEO/KOER Self Test
1. Perform the “KOEO/KOER SELF TEST“ by using the M-MDS.
-
• Inspect the corresponding DTC if a DTC has been stored.
Resistance Inspection
1. Disconnect the fuel additive pump unit connector.
2. Measure the resistance between fuel additive pump unit terminals C and D.
-
-
Fuel additive pump unit resistance
-
8—10 ohms
Circuit Open/Short Inspection
1. Remove the rear seat cushion.
2. Disconnect the fuel additive control module connector. (See FUEL ADDITIVE CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
3. Inspect the following wiring harness for an open or short circuit (continuity check).
Open circuit
-
• If there is no continuity, there is an open circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
-
― Fuel additive pump unit terminal C and fuel additive control module terminal 10
― Fuel additive pump unit terminal D and fuel additive control module terminal 9
Short circuit
-
• If there is continuity, there is a short circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
-
― Fuel additive pump unit terminal D and power supply
― Fuel additive pump unit terminal D and body ground
― Fuel additive pump unit terminal C and power supply
