INTAKE THROTTLE VALVE POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)]

•  Water penetrating the connector will cause sensor malfunction. To prevent this, be careful not to damage the wiring harnesses or the waterproof connector so as to cause water penetration.

•  Before performing the following inspection, make sure to follow the procedure as indicated in the troubleshooting flowchart. (See ПОРЯДОК ИСПОЛЬЗОВАНИЯ ДАННОГО РУКОВОДСТВА.)

Voltage Inspection

1.  Turn the engine switch to the ON position.

2.  Measure the voltage between intake throttle valve position sensor terminal A and body ground.

•  If it is not as specified, “Circuit Open/Short Inspection”.
―  If there is no open/short circuit, replace the air pipe (air bypass valve (High power-Euro 4) and intake throttle valve component).

Resistance Inspection

1.  Disconnect the intake throttle valve connector.

2.  Measure the resistance between intake throttle valve terminals.

•  If not as specified, replace the intake throttle valve.

Circuit Open/Short Inspection

1.  Disconnect the PCM connector. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)

2.  Inspect the following wiring harness for an open or short circuit (continuity check).

Open circuit

•  If there is no continuity, there is an open circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
―  Intake throttle valve terminal A and PCM terminal 222
―  Intake throttle valve terminal B and PCM terminal 105
―  Intake throttle valve terminal F and PCM terminal 206


Short circuit

•  If there is continuity, there is a short circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
―  Intake throttle valve terminal A and power supply
―  Intake throttle valve terminal A and body ground
―  Intake throttle valve terminal F and power supply
―  Intake throttle valve terminal F and body ground
―  Intake throttle valve terminal B and power supply
―  Intake throttle valve terminal B and body ground
