DTC P2002 [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]
id0102f1840000
DTC P2002 |
Diesel particulate filter efficiency less than threshold |
---|---|
DETECTION CONDITION
• The PCM monitors the exhaust pressure before and after the diesel particulate filter, using the exhaust gas pressure sensor. If the pressure difference is less than calibrated value, the PCM determines that the diesel particulate filter efficiency is less than threshold.
Diagnostic support note
• MIL illuminates if PCM detects the above malfunctioning condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
• PENDING CODE is available if PCM detects the above malfunction conditions during first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Fuel injector compensation data input procedure does not been completed.
• PCM malfunction

1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2
VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related service repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?

Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
3
IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA
• Is DTC P2002 on FREEZE FRAME DATA?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to troubleshooting procedures for DTC in FREEZE FRAME DATA.
4
INSPECT EXHAUST GAS LEAKAGE
• Inspect the exhaust system for leakage.
• Is there any leakage found around diesel particulate filter and exhaust gas pressure sensor?
Yes
Repair or replace malfunctioning part, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
5
INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR PIPING
• Inspect for connection and condition at exhaust gas pressure sensor side piping.
• Is there any clacked and/or damaged found?
Yes
Repair or replace malfunctioning part, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR
• Inspect exhaust gas pressure sensor.
• Is the exhaust gas pressure sensor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor.
7
INSPECT FOR RESTRICTION OR CLOGGED IN DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER
• Start the engine and warm up to normal operation temperature.
• Monitor EXHPRESS PID using the M-MDS at idle.
• Is the EXHPRESS PID value less than 4.0 kPa {30.0 mmHg}?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Visually inspect diesel particulate filter. If damaged or deterioration found, replace the catalytic converter. Clear the PCM memory. Then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2002 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Turn the engine switch to ON position (engine off).
• Clear the DTC from PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Start the engine.
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
