DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The PCM monitors the pressure by the exhaust gas pressure sensor circuit voltage. If the differential pressure is –5 kPa {–38 mmHg, –1.5 inHg} or more than 5 kPa {38 mmHg, 1.5 inHg}, the PCM determines that there is a exhaust gas pressure sensor circuit problem.

• PCM malfunction

• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related service repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?

Yes
|
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE OR STORED DTC
• Turn the engine switch off, then to the ON position (Engine off).
• Verify the related PENDING CODE or stored DTCs.
• Are other DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the appropriate DTC inspection.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
• Turn the engine switch off.
• Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR
• Inspect the exhaust gas pressure sensor.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
• Turn the engine switch off.
• Disconnect the PCM connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2452 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Start the engine.
• Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
• Are any DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
