Key off voltage high

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the voltage from the PCM control relay. If the voltage is more than 10 V when the engine switch is off, the PCM determines that there is malfunction PCM control relay circuit.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  PCM control relay malfunction
•  Connector or terminal malfunction
•  Short to power supply between PCM control relay terminal C and PCM terminal 119/120
•  PCM malfunction

VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
•  Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related service repair information availability.
•  Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA
•  Is DTC P1196 on FREEZE FRAME DATA?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to troubleshooting procedures for DTC in FREEZE FRAME DATA.

INSPECT PCM CONTROL RELAY CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
•  Turn the engine switch off.
•  Disconnect the PCM control relay connector.
•  Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace terminal, then go to Step 7.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PCM CONTROL RELAY
•  Inspect the PCM control relay.
•  Is it normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Install the sensor securely, then go to the Step 7.

INSPECT PCM CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Turn the engine switch to the ON position (Engine off).
•  Measure voltage between PCM control relay terminal C (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
•  Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Repair or replace for short to power supply.
Then, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P1196 COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Turn the engine switch to the ON position (Engine off).
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Start the engine.
•  Perform the OBD DRIVE MODE.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Perform the Repair Verification Drive Mode.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
